About
I am a Board-Certified Emergency Physician with over 25 years of active clinical practice, having directly treated more than 100,000 patients across high-volume urban emergency departments, critical access hospitals, and military medicine. My expertise spans the full spectrum of emergency conditions, trauma, resuscitation, and care of patients of all ages and backgrounds.
Certified in ACLS, PALS, and BLS, I bring extensive experience in patient safety, case review, and quality improvement. I served as Director of Quality Improvement for the Department of Emergency Medicine at my primary work site, collaborating with hospital peer review committees to evaluate care standards.
My career path reflects both breadth and depth: from serving as a Navy Emergency Physician in Okinawa, Japan, to working at a Level I academic center, to nearly two decades as a Senior Partner in community emergency medicine.
In addition to clinical practice, I provide services as a medical malpractice expert witness, offering chart reviews, case screening, depositions, and trial testimony for both plaintiff and defense counsel nationwide. My medico-legal analyses focus on whether the standard of care was met in real time, based on the information available to providers at the moment decisions were made. This method avoids hindsight bias and produces objective, defensible opinions that withstand legal scrutiny.
