Dr. Jonathan Lyu is a board-certified geriatrician and internist with extensive clinical, academic, and research experience. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2020, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Cum Laude) from the University of California, Riverside in 2014. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Olive View – UCLA Medical Center (2020–2023) and a Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at Ronald Reagan – UCLA Medical Center (2023–2024).
Dr. Lyu’s clinical expertise includes comprehensive geriatric assessment, dementia care, advanced care planning, and the management of complex, medically vulnerable patients. He has served in both acute and post-acute settings, with a focus on interdisciplinary team-based care and patient-centered outcomes.
His research contributions include peer-reviewed publications on adrenal insufficiency, negative culture diagnostics, flea-borne typhus, and early warning tools for post-acute care. Dr. Lyu has received numerous awards, including the Urgent Care Resident of the Year (2023) and CALTCM 1st Place Clinical Vignette Award (2023). He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Geriatrics Society, American Osteopathic Medical Association, Society of General Internal Medicine, and California Association of Long-Term Care Medicine.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Lyu enjoys golf, basketball, rock climbing, guitar, hiking, meditation, science fiction, and succulent gardening.
