Rider, PhD, PE, CPE is a human factors expert, providing forensic engineering and specializing in catastrophic motor vehicle collisions, illumination and conspicuity, driver behavior/attention/distraction, workplace safety, machine guarding, slips, trips and falls, and the adequacy of product warnings and instructions.
Dr. Rider is a licensed professional engineer and certified human factors professional, and has consulted in human factors and safety since 1999. He was an assistant professor at West Virginia University, researching driver attention and distraction, and teaching courses in industrial engineering, occupational safety and human factors. His research is published and cited in a number of refereed journals.
