20 years of service as a United States Air Force Officer (retired); earned the Meritorious Service Medal twice, deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Led the Tri-Service Addiction Recovery Center – the worldwide tertiary referral center for the diagnosis and treatment of addiction-related disorders within the Department of Defense (DoD). Hand-picked by the DoD as the Lead Editor/Author for a first-ever VA-DoD clinical practice guideline for the management of substance use disorders.
Previously deemed by the courts as an expert witness for the following issues: addiction medicine, psychiatry, drug testing, gambling addiction, cough medicine addiction, and for a variety of addictive drugs and related issues.
