About
Dr. Lewis R. Linet, Jr. brings 48 years of hands-on automobile industry experience and 31 years as a testifying and consulting expert witness to litigation involving dealership operations nationwide. Since entering the automobile business in 1978, Dr. Linet has worked in nearly every dealership role — Salesman, Assistant Sales Manager, Sales Manager, Finance Manager, and Used Car Manager — at dealerships including Glendale Dodge, Van Nuys Pontiac, Pete Ellis Dodge, Midway Ford, and Imperial Nissan.
In 1986, he founded American Auto Seminars to train automobile salespeople and managers, and has since trained thousands of salespeople, managers, and dealers worldwide through recorded programs, published workbooks, and live seminars, including Breaking the Sales Barrier, The Complete Car Salesman, and The Million-Dollar Walkaround. He has spoken extensively at 20-Group meetings, dealer association conferences, and automotive industry conventions on sales, management, and ethics.
Since 1995, Dr. Linet has provided Expert Witness, Consultant, and Case Strategy services to more than 100 law firms in municipal, state, and federal litigation involving automobile industry standards and practices — serving both plaintiffs and defendants as a neutral expert. His areas of expertise span sales, leasing, financing, service and parts, and dealership sales training, with specific testimony experience covering dealer fraud, Lemon Law, wrongful termination, discrimination, warranty issues, repossession, "payment-packing," purchase/lease flips, and related consumer protection statutes (Song-Beverly, Moss-Magnuson, California AB 68, and others).
A certified mediator through the Los Angeles County Bar Association and Los Angeles County Superior Court, Dr. Linet has conducted numerous court-assigned mediations and arbitrations, served on the LA County Superior Court's Pro Bono ADR Panel, and taught mediation at Pepperdine University Law School's Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution. He also served as a Community Instructor at Los Angeles Pierce College, where he founded the C.A.R.S. College of Automotive Retail Sales and received the "Excellence in Partnership" trophy from the California Community College District.
Dr. Linet holds a Ph.D. in Economics/Business Marketing from LaSalle University (where he later joined the faculty as Adjunct Professor), a B.A. in Economics from Ursinus College, and completed contract law studies at Temple University Law School.
