Emmanuel Coffy (www.coffylaw.com) is a registered Patent Attorney and former Patent Examiner. Mr. Coffy is an author, inventor and had a long career as a Digital Design Engineer. During his career as an Engineer, he held positions such as Lead Design Engineer. He supervised the U.S. Air Force’s largest computer network (Cape Canaveral – NASA) capable of supporting two (2) simultaneous launches. His practice emphasizes patent application preparation, prosecution, and enforcement in the electronic arts, including Business Methods Patents and Design Patents.
Mr. Coffy has extensive experience in digital technologies, computer networks, and information technologies as well as device physics, which includes semiconductor applications. Mr. Coffy co-invented a device called the “Low Friction Apparatus” issued as U.S. Patent No. 8,585,092. Mr. Coffy authored many articles and is the co-author of two (2) books namely, (1) “The Value of Your Idea$” and (2) “Do You Want To Be A Digital Entrepreneur” published by Trafford Publishing Co. He is the President of Boyer Coffy Enterprises, Inc. a State of the Art Digital Corporation.
He also has experience in re-examination, litigation support, patent infringement assessment, patentability opinion letters, cease-and-desist letters, demand letters, and due diligence. Mr. Coffy also advises clients on intellectual property strategy, licensing, trademark, trade secret, copyright, and related unfair competition/deceptive advertising issues.
Mr. Coffy graduated from Bridgeport Engineering Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). He obtained a Master of Science in Engineering (MSEE) from Florida Institute of Technology. Mr. Coffy was a candidate in the Ph.D. program at Stevens Institute of Technology Management program. He opted to attend law school and obtained his Juris Doctor (JD) from Seton Hall Law School.
Following law school, Mr. Coffy was a patent examiner for the USPTO in the Computer Networks Technology Center.
