Mr. Mitchell has investigated hundreds of traffic crashes and conducted numerous Event Data Recorder (EDR) downloads and analyses, including Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) from black boxes and damaged modules. With over a decade of service in law enforcement—primarily focused on crash investigation, reconstruction, and courtroom testimony—he brings a rare combination of investigative insight, field experience, and analytical rigor.
In addition to his investigative credentials, Mr. Mitchell possesses strong mechanical, electrical, and electronics expertise, allowing him to diagnose and repair damaged vehicle systems in order to retrieve critical crash data. He is proficient in advanced forensic technologies such as 3D scene mapping, photogrammetry, drone-based LiDAR, and animation. His skill set also includes producing scaled drawings, scene sketches, and forensic illustrations to visually support expert witness testimony.
