About
My name is Owen Ahearn, and I have worked as a residential and commercial property manager since 1986 (forty years).
My professional credentials are from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). IREM is the premier trainer of property managers nationwide and is affiliated with the National Association of Realtors. I am a Certified Property Manager, an Accredited Residential Manager and an Accredited Commercial Manager. I completed their newest certification on Maintenance and Risk Management a few years ago when it was offered. I am a four-time Commercial Manager of the Year Award winner from IREM's New England Chapter 4. Chapter 4 is the largest member chapter in the US.
During my forty years of managing and maintaining commercial and residential properties, I have worked for individuals, private investors, partnerships, and corporations. I have also worked for government agencies including the Resolution Trust Corporation, the FDIC, the US Marshals Service, the US Department of Justice, and the US Department of Agriculture.
My experience and credentials allow me to manage any size property or portfolio in the US.
I also possess the OSHA 30 Hour General Industry Certification.
I have worked as a Premises Liability expert for more than a decade on 230 cases nationwide, in 25 states, the District of Columbia and in Canada. I have extensive experience in mediation, depositions and at trial.
I created a website www.owenahearn.com which highlights more of my experience and expertise. I have amassed an extensive library of industry standards, best practices, management plans, maintenance plans, emergency plans, capital improvements plans, inspection forms, checklists and other relevant industry materials that I regularly cite in my reports.
